Going out next New Years Eve - enjoy yourself my friends... Things your granny should have told you: "HOW TO CURE A HANGOVER". They say you should not have got yourself into such a state where you need to cure a hangover in the first place. Easier said than done. You need a little ingenuity and hope springs eternal in the pursuit of such a remedy for that annual over-imbibement. Such things are suggested in the "Schott's Food and Drink Miscellany". Worth a read? Read below: 1/ The Embalmer: a pint of cold tea mixed with slices of lemon. 2/ The Lazemby: hot water infused with ginger, cloves and honey. 3/ St Marks Pick-me-up: 10 drops of brandy, two glasses of water, a glass of brandy, a shot of curacao and some lemon-juice. Mix well. 4/ The Doctor: raw egg, brandy, fresh milk (sherry may be substituted) Or take a bath and a lie-down - and a vow of abstinence! Happy holidays. Huttriver says: for the younger brigade anyway, a bit of the hair of the dog that bit you will be good for you. Have a good meal before you hit the road, Jack! Have a great time! I guess if it didn't work, a couple of aspirins would have done the trick. Whatever, make sure you enjoy yourelf first! |
