Gangs of Iraq: military quietly enlisting thousands of active gang members. A ghost army of gangbangers presents a terrifyng challenge for the military. 'It is setting the stage for a disaster', says a longtime military advisor. Lax enlistment standards have inadvertently allowed known members of Crips, Bloods, Latin Kings and white supremist groups to join the miltary. But does it have to be? Could it actually be a stroke of genius? The violence and ferocity of these gang members could well be harnessed and used against America's enemies - some of these could be Muslim as well. What nobody has really thought about is what happens to these gangbangers when the army no longer needs or wants them? After Vietnam there were thousands of maladjusted ex-soldiers who couldn't fit back into society - some were like mines floating in a harbour - just waiting to explode. Just imagine these gangbangers moving back into the streets of Los Angeles or other big urban areas of the US. They would be walking time bombs! Contributor's Note What will happen to them?
