Australian research has found high blood pressure is big killer in Asia- Pacific... Research has found that high blood pressure continues to be the big killer in the Asia-Pacific region -new Australian study - and affects the quality of life! New Australian research has found that high blood pressure is the cause of up to two thirds of cardiovascular disease in the Asia- Pacific region. This affects the quality of life and loss of money in the economy, but will increase health insurance I'm sure. Research from Sydney's George Institute for International Health has discovered that hypertension or high blood pressure as it is commomly known, is a key factor in more than half the cases of stroke and heart attacks. It also shows that 30% of New Zealand's stroke deaths are caused by it; a drain on our health resources, the money available in the public sector, and the quality of life for patients in the health system. Senior research fellow , Dr Alexander Martinuik reportedly said reducing this condition would have a very large impact on the number of deaths from heart attacks and stroke. As 40% of Kiwis have high blood pressure, a regime of a good balanced diet, plenty of exercise,no smoking, no excessive drinking of alcohol, no stress and a good night's sleep will keep blood pressure down, and avoid heart attacks.This will undoubtably improve the quality of life and ensure a good money flow in the economy. Health insurance will undoubtably be a growth industry in the economy for many years to come.
