Grossly malformed child will be allowed to enter the US for treatment...
When is it too much for a miracle... Does a baby with much of its brain missing,no eyeballs, with facial and body abnormalities and spina bifida qualify for a miracle? Her parents claimed her doctors said not to feed her and let nature take its course. But after four days she had defied all predictions - she was still alive. Her parents fed her milk from a can. Three months later she is still alive and continues to fight for her life. Meanwhile an international argument has been raging whether she should receive expensive medical treatment in Auckland. This story was examined on 60 Minutes on New Zealand TV3 some months ago. I updated this post after the program. The NZ Government has announced they have been advised that there is no possibility of medical assistance for the grossly malformed little girl. As a conseqence visas will not be made available for the little girl, her parents and supporters, all of whom are Samoan citizens. The final update of this story was that the US would allow the Samoan child to enter the country and be examined by specialists there to determine what treatment is necessary. It appears also the money will not be a problem if it is established that the child could be treated. Let me just say that this poor child is grossly deformed, and I personally hope and pray that American doctors will be able to help her.
