Chinese anger at worsening local pollution...
I read of Chinese anger with worsening pollution back in 2007 which was allegedly fuelling increasing protest there, the nations top environmental official claimed. He criticised local governments who had protected factories which were turning rivers into sticky polluted glue. Credible claims? I think it is hard to decipher fact from fiction in that vast and populous country. Policy or propaganda? Who knows really! But the most important thing back in 2007 was the impending Olympic games in Beijing during this coming year. Will China be ready for the big event? We will find out in due course.
