A feline pacemaker did the trick...
She's purring along again - feline pacemaker has done the trick... Heidi a 15 year old moggie has her feline motor purring along once again after a Melbourne surgeon fitted her up with what is believed to be Australia's first state of the art feline pacemaker. When Heidi began experiencing fainting spells, nothing to do with swooning in front of the local tom, her owners took her to the local vet and she was diagnosed with arrhythmia - a condition in which the heart stops for short periods of time. Doctors fitted a tiny pacemaker into the moggie, lodging the unit in her stomach muscles, with electrical wiring leading into her heart. Dogs have benefitted for over 15 years from the implant of canine versions of the pacemaker. Woof, woof!
